The benefits of Yoga are many. Reducing stress and physical tension, providing an antidote to the hectic lives many of us lead. All while improving strength, increasing flexibility, toning the body and helping to reduce pain and prevent injuries.
Unfortunately for many of us, getting started can be a little intimidating. Typical all-level group classes may not be the best place to start, since they have students with all levels of experience and there is no step by step instruction from the beginning.
Practicing yoga can be an incredible experience. Learning the basics with a similar group of beginners can help set the foundation and give you the basic knowledge and confidence so that you can start attending regular classes (or begin a home practice).
Our 3-week beginner series is taught by Annapolis Yoga founder, Barry Brooks and is designed specifically for the absolute beginner or anyone wanted a step by step review of the basics. Over a period of three weeks, you’ll gradually learn a variety of beginner level poses – with special focus on how to use props and modify poses to meet your needs and how to stay safe and achieve maximum benefit through proper alignment.
